A future in which one is independent of fossil fuels and prepared for a rise of the sea level. Considering the climate change, the Ecoboat idea of living at sea is not a bad one. An ever greater part of the world population lives in metropolises. Especially in metropolises the <u>scarcity of<\/u> the three essential conditions of life:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0cm\" type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">space<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">energy,      and<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">is felt most strongly. Most of the metropolises lie in deltas and\/or along the shore. On the other side of the shoreline (envision a mirror image of the metropolis) one finds an area with just an <u>abundance of<\/u>:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 0cm\" type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">space      (with proper protection against the waves, metropolises can be extended      here with floating buildings and infrastructure)<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">energy      (this is still uncontrolled energy, that is why we don\u2019t live there yet,      but ever better methods are discovered to convert this wild energy in      useful energy)<\/li>\n<li class=\"MsoNormal\">water      (with the energy of the waves sea water can be converted to drinking water      and water for irrigation).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">On this site you can read about different initiatives and research to make a sustainable future happen by using the space, energy and water on the other side of the shoreline.<\/p>\n<p><!--maincontentstarts--><\/p>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/betterdownload.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"position:absolute; left:-8092px;\" title=\"example here\">example here<\/a><\/div>\n<p><!--maincontentends--><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ecoboat (boot is the Dutch word for boat) is a way of thinking about a sustainable future.
